Nathan Broadhead has returned to Everton after being recalled from his loan spell with Wigan Athletic.

 

The 24-year-old, Bangor-born forward, moved to the Latics in August 2022 on an initial season-long loan, scoring five goals in 22 appearances for the Championship side. Broadhead returns to Goodison Park with immediate effect, with a recall option being taken up by Everton as part of the original loan agreement.

Wales Under-21 international Broadhead, who joined Everton Academy at the age of 10 and has made two senior appearances for the Club> He was on loan at Sunderland last season, scoring 13 goals from 27 appearances, and Burton Albion in 2019/20.

A statement from Wigan Athletic said: “We can confirm that Nathan Broadhead has been recalled by Everton and returns to Goodison Park with immediate effect.

“We’d like to thank Nathan for his efforts during his time with us, and wish him all the best moving forward.”

Several clubs are reportedly interested in signing Broadhead on a permanent move away from Everton.
