An appeal has been made to find a wheel from a stretcher used by the Llanberis mountain rescue team after it went missing on Snowdon.
The wheel was removed from the stretcher when a standard stretcher rescue from the mountain escalated to a search and rescue helicopter evacuation to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor. Members of the rescue team left the wheel in what they thought was a safe place, but when they returned later the wheel had gone.
It’s possible the wheel has been removed from the mountain by well intentioned hill walker thinking they were helping or it could have been stolen, either way a replacement will cost around £2,000.
