Family and friends in homes across North Wales feature in S4C’s new Welsh language ‘Gogglebocs’ Cymru series.

 

The Welsh version of the popular Channel 4 format series Gogglebox started on Wednesday, November 2 at 9pm.

Among the Gogglebocs Cymru faces are Mark Rogers, who lives in Manchester, but is originally from Maesgeirchen in Bangor, and Carwyn Davies, from Penygroes.

The show also features Caernarfon husband and wife Osian and Nayema, Llanelli mum, son and daughter Olivia, George and Nia, and Wrexham friends Elen, Natalie and Rebecca.

The series is narrated by comedian Tudur Owen .

A spokesperson for the programme said: “The cameras will visit the homes of characters throughout Wales and further – from Caernarfon to Cardiff, from Maerdy to Manchester – and will share with us their views on programmes from Wales and beyond.

“The programme is on for two blocks of fives weeks.

“The first block is November and the second block, January.”

The show airs on Wednesday nights, 9pm on S4C and is available on catchup.

S4C’s chief content officer, Llinos Griffin-Williams, previously revealed that they were “looking for a cast of exciting characters that truly represent a diverse modern Wales”.

“Gogglebocs Cymru is set to be a gamechanger for S4C,” he added.

“Gogglebox is a brilliant TV format that captures the hearts and minds of a country. We want S4C to be an inclusive, exciting home for the very best of world class content that belongs to the whole nation.”
