Welsh heavy rock band Crys are to perform in North Wales for the first time in 12 years on Saturday 27 January and will re-launch a new version of their song ‘Lan yn y Gogledd’ Joining them at Pontio in Bangor will be local lads and one of Wales’ most popular bands the famous Maffia Mr Huws.

Maffia Mr. Huws, from Bethesda, raised the bar in the 1980s with their exciting brand of Welsh rock and energetic musicianship, and their influence has been way beyond their albums. At their best, they are a great live band, and their energetic and committed attitude to music and songs have always raised them to another level.

South Wales band Crys, were formed in 1976 by the brothers Liam and Scott Forde and the band’s profile grew steadily through appearances on Welsh radio and television shows, which ultimately led to a recording contract with Sain Records, they also became the first Welsh language band invited to perform a session on the BBC Radio One Friday Rock Show hosted by Tommy Vance.

DJing between the bands will be Legendary punk rock musician Rhys Mwyn

The concert promises to be a great evening of ‘head banging’ and nostalgia with excellent music and unforgettable songs. A chance for the new generation to hear two of Wales’ great bands playing live once again!
