Bangor Cathedral is inviting children to sing at a special screening of the classic Christmas film ‘The Snowman’.
The cathedral will be showing the film accompanied by a live orchestra and choir on 12th December at 6pm.
Director of music, Joe Cooper, is looking for children to be part of the choir to sing the well-known song “Walking in The Air”, as well as some carols.
Joe said: “it’s a really nice, fun opportunity for children to watch this classic film, but also to be part of the action.
“The film will be on a big screen, but all the music to accompany it will be created by us as the screening takes place.
“We’ll have a live orchestra playing the soundtrack, and we want children from the local area to come and sing with us as well.”
The film ‘The Snowman’ includes the well-known song ‘Walking In The Air’, which was taken to chart success by Aled Jones, himself a former chorister at Bangor Cathedral.
Joe added: “If any children would like to join in with the music for the film, we’ll be holding a run-through on the two Mondays before – 28th November and 5th December – at 4.30pm in the cathedral.”
