The Deiniol Centre in Bangor will host an Arts and Crafts Fayre this weekend, 30th November 10am-4pm, after a successful inaugural event in October.

The event, which will be held in collaboration with Stiwdio 9, had such a great response and positive feedback, a follow-up event will be held just in time for some Christmas, giving shoppers in Bangor the opportunity to buy some unusual and original gifts.

Deiniol Centre manager Kate Jones said: “We didn’t know what to expect when we held our first fayre in October, we kept it quite small and had our fingers crossed that it would be a success.

“It turned out to be a fantastic day and has spurred us on to plan more, we are to hold another on 30th November, after which we are hoping to make it a regular event three or four times a year and to invite more of the local talented craftspeople that abound in this area.

“Credit must go to ‘Stiwdio 9’ who work from unit 9 in the centre, for their hard work in doing most of the planning and organising to make the day go so well”.

Stiwdio 9 partners Phia, Anthony and Cathy have long held the ambition for an artisan craft fayre and couldn’t be more pleased with the success of the first fayre.

They said: “Bangor needs more events to encourage people into town and we would love this to become the “go to” craft fayre.

“We aim to give as much encouragement as possible to good quality artisans who want to promote their fantastic work to local people. Already we have woodworkers, painters, weavers, glassblowers, paper and textile workers keen to join with us to make our november event even more successful”.
