Hundreds of runners will take to the streets next Sunday, 6 October, in the Bangor 10K & Half Marathon.
Both races start and finishes in the city centre going out to the coastline, into the Penrhyn Castle Estate then back to and along the Garth Pier reaching out over the Menai Straits, taking in views of Anglesey, Snowdonia and the surrounding North Wales coastline, then back to the finish in the city centre.
The 10K has sold out for the 3rd consecutive year with just a few places remaining in the Half Marathon, which is part of the ‘3 Castles Series’ which also includes the Snowdonia Half Marathon and the newly named, St David’s Hospice Conwy Half Marathon.
Both 10K & Half Marathon start at Bangor Clock at 9:30am, with the first 10K runners expected to finish back at the clock shortly after 10am and the first Half Marathon runners finishing before 11am.
A Fun Run (entry on the day) along Bangor High Street from the clock to the Skerries pub and back, approx 1/2 mile, starts at 9:00am. The fun run is open to all ages but organisers ask for children age 9 and under to be accompanied by an adult.
The cost of the Fun Run is £3 with a medal for all finishers.
