Menter Iaith Bangor are launching a special challenge for Bangor and Dyffryn Ogwen Primary schoolchildren, to design a poster with a message of hope for 2021.
With the challenges 2020, Menter Iaith want to bid farewell to the year of the big lockdown and look to a more hopeful and positive future. This is an opportunity to take part in a special competition by thinking creatively about a message of goodwill for 2021. The message can be in the form of a picture, a poster or a digital design but with the emphasis on hope, kindness, brotherhood, unity and love.
All competitors have until Friday 15th January 2021 to create their message and send a picture of it to us at Menter Iaith.
Mair Rowlands, Chair of Menter Iaith Bangor said: “With 2021 fast approaching, who better to offer messages of goodwill and hope to inspire us all than the next generation, the children. Thinking about the future, anything’s possible and we want to see and read what your goodwill messages will be to the people of the world. So use your wordsmith skills to invigorate us.”
With two categories for children to compete, category 1 for year 3 and 4 children and category 2 for year 5 and 6 children, there are special prizes available to 2 winners. In addition, with the support of Bangor First Bangor yn Gyntaf and the Estate Agents Dafydd Hardy, the winning goodwill messages will be shown in some shop windows on Bangor High Street.
Two Menter Iaith Bangor members, Menna Baines and Nia Roberts, will judge the competition and the names of the winners will be revealed live on Menter’s Facebook page at midday on Friday 2nd January 2021.
