Hendre Hall in Bangor have apologised for sending a racist Facebook message, describing it as a ‘severe error of judgement’ and due to a ‘lack of patience’ after receiving numerous hoax messages.
The message was sent via Facebook private messages last night when asked whether they’d accept a Romanian passport as identification for admission to the venue on New Years Eve.
Daisy Williams posted on Facebook earlier today: “Last night a good friend of mine, who happens to be from Romania, messaged the Hendre Facebook page to ask whether they’d accept his Romanian ID on the door on New Years Eve. English isn’t his first language, which I guess was offensive or hilarious to you for some reason. After asking a few questions, the venue responded by calling him a “Retard” and saying “Thank God for Brexit, you Slavic C***”
‘A Severe Error of Judgement’
Hendre Hall have responded to Daisy’s Facebook post by saying “These comments were made by me last night. I have had a huge amount of hoax messages recently and I assumed this was the same person, resulting in a severe error of judgement and due to the severe lack of patience regarding these hoax messages. Never the less, I offer my sincere apologies, a message has been sent to the person offering my apologies – James”
