Gwynedd Council have made a number of changes to their services in light of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

 

 

Schools

Every school in Gwynedd will close on Friday 20 March.

Bins & Recycling

Garden waste will not be collected in Arfon on Friday, 20 March.

To ensure the safety of collection crews they will not empty the top box/paper box if any tissue is present. Any tissues should go in the green bin, in bags.

Recycling Centres

Recycling centres are currently open. The council are making arrangements in accordance with the requirements of Covid-19 and staff are maintaining the appropriate distance on our sites.

Bangor Crematorium

Arrangements are in place to thoroughly clean the crematorium between each service. Arrangements are also in place to ensure that everyone who attends a service sit at least 2 metres away from each other in accordance with national guidelines.

Libraries and archives

Every library in Gwynedd are closing temporarily at 5pm on 20 March 2020.

Leisure Centres and sports programmes

All Byw’n Iach Leisure Centres including in Gwynedd are temporarily closed.
Byw’n Iach Week has been postponed. All community sporting events have also been postponed.

Meetings and committees

All meetings and committees that are not making key decisions in regards to the Council’s services are postponed for an undetermined period.

Registration and certificates

The service for purchasing a copy of birth / death / marriage / civil partnership certificates is currently suspended. We will deal with urgent requests on a case to case basis.

Museums

Storiel in Bangor is now closed, but Mind and DWP’s 1 to 1 sessions are to continue.

The National Museum in Parc Padarn and Ysbyty Chwarel Museum are closed.
