Local community groups, charities and voluntary organisations are being encouraged to secure their place at this year’s Bangor Summer Festival, with spaces already being taken and demand building quickly.

Taking place on Saturday 15 August 2026, Bangor Summer Festival is set to be one of the standout events in North West Wales this summer, following a hugely successful 2025 which saw an estimated 15,000 people attend across the day.

For community organisations, the festival offers a rare opportunity to be part of a major city centre event, engaging directly with thousands of people in one day. From families and young people to older residents and visitors from across the region, the event attracts a wide audience who spend the day exploring, taking part and connecting with what is happening around them.

Community and charity stalls will be located in a busy, high footfall area alongside entertainment and activities, creating an ideal setting for groups to raise awareness, speak to new people, and showcase the work they do.

Speaking on behalf of the organising team, Cllr Nigel Pickavance said:

“Last year, Bangor was absolutely bouncing from start to finish. The atmosphere and the footfall were fantastic, and for community groups it is a brilliant opportunity to get in front of thousands of people in a really positive setting.

“It is about being visible, having conversations and making connections. There are so many groups doing great work locally, and this is a chance to share that with a much wider audience.”

Organisers are keen to ensure a strong mix of groups are represented, reflecting the range of work taking place across Bangor and the surrounding area. With interest already high, groups are being encouraged to act sooner rather than later.

Community groups, charities and voluntary organisations interested in taking part are invited to request a booking form and further details from Carwyn Davies at Bangor City Council.
