Coastguards were called on Friday, 22 October, after a dog fell from a footpath and into the Menai Strait.
Coastguards from Penmon and Bangor were tasked by the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Holyhead at 11.18am on Friday when a distressed Member of the Public phoned to inform them the dog had fallen off the footpath between Treborth and the Britannia Bridge and was in the water struggling to make it back up to safety.
A spokesperson for Penmon Coastguard said: “Our main concern was that the member of the public could put themselves at risk to try and rescue the dog.
“Fortunately as we were departing stations the person rang 999 and explained to that the dog had managed to make its way to safety and unharmed, therefore we stood down on route and returned to station to await the next call”.
“‘Don’t forget if you see anyone in ‘DANGER’ on the Coast Call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
