Claire’s has confirmed the final day of trading for its Bangor store, with the popular high street retailer set to close its doors on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The closure will bring an end to 27 years of trading in Bangor, marking the loss of another long-standing name from the city centre.
The accessories chain, a familiar fixture on high streets across the UK, had already announced plans to shut the Bangor branch earlier this year, as part of wider challenges facing the retail sector.
In recent weeks, the store has been running closing-down sales, with stock being cleared ahead of the final day.
Claire’s has been particularly popular with younger shoppers and families, known for its jewellery, accessories and ear-piercing services. Its departure is likely to be felt by many who grew up visiting the store over the past two decades.
The closure adds to ongoing concerns about the future of Bangor’s high street, which has seen a number of well-known retailers disappear amid rising costs, changing shopping habits and increased competition from online brands.
Shoppers still have a short window to visit the store before it closes for good on April 18.
