Residents in Bangor have been invited to say thank you to our refuse workers for their work since the Covid crisis, as part of a new programme for BBC Wales.

Filming will take place in the Coed Mawr to Penrhosgarnedd areas of Bangor on Wednesday (13 May) for the programme called ‘The Great Indoors’ – a programme of thanks to the hidden heroes of this Covid-19 crisis, presented by Carol Vordman and Scott Quinelle, although they wont be in Bangor tomorrow due to the restrictions.

The programme provides insightful films, engaging interviews and inspiring guests, The Great Indoors also plugs into the nation’s popular and quirky social media content that is being created during the lockdown period of the coronavirus pandemic.

Local residents in Bangor are asked to keep an eye out for the lorries and give a wave, a clap, or leave signs/pictures on their bins.

Councillor Catrin Wager said: “These guys have kept on working and providing an essential service through this crisis, and it would great to try and show them as much gratitude as possible!

“Estimated times for filming are thought to be around Penrhos Road/Bryn Adda about 9.30am, and Coed Mawr around 10.30am. Please keep an eye on them and come to your window or doorstep to show your support, keeping at least 2m distance of course.”
