Welsh radio presenter Sarah Wynn Griffiths from Bangor recently co-presented ‘Newsbeat’ on BBC Radio 1 broadcasting to millions of listeners!
Sarah who started presenting on the student radio station StormFM at Bangor University is a presenter on Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd and MônFM and is also a presenter on Cardiff’s Radio Platfform and the North Wales Coasts’ Sound Radio.
Sarah co-presented a special Newsbeat ‘One Year of Lockdowns’ on BBC Radio 1 and chatted about some of the special requests on Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd during the last year, her brother’s work for the NHS, her work as a musician as well as her excitement to have her hair done!
Sarah commented “Presenting on Radio 1 is something I’ve always dreamed about. It still hasn’t sunk in to be honest! I love music and presenting; they’re a massive part of my life. I’m so grateful to Radio 1 for this amazing opportunity and forever thankful. Such an amazing experience ”.

Sarah was recently nominated for the ‘Star of the Music Scene’ 2020 award by ‘Y Selar’ Welsh language magazine for her work in promoting Welsh music artists on her radio shows.
