Awyr Las – The North Wales NHS Charity – have thanked the staff and customers of Marks and Spencer in Bangor who have raised £1,002.07 for the Alaw Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Emma Griffiths at Marks and Spencer Menai Bangor explained that the team at the store decided to raise money for the cancer care unit in Ysbyty Gwynedd because they know cancer can touch anyone at any time. Emma said that all the team knew someone who has had cancer and who has received excellent care on the Alaw Unit.
Marks and Spencer Menai Bangor raised this super amount of money thanks to the generosity of customers and by holding bake sales and a book stall for staff.
Retired Alaw nurse Chas Muskett, who went to meet and thank the M&S team for all their efforts said: “Donations like this from our local community mean so much.
“I know that these donations will help to make the care and treatment that patients receive on the Alaw Unit even better.
“Thank you to everyone who put their pennies in the collection pot whilst shopping in M&S over the past few months.”
