Bangor firework display for 2021 has been cancelled due to concerns over coronavirus regulations.
It was hoped that the annual display, usually held on Beach Road in Bangor, could be relocated to Bangor Pier, however the city council have now announced the cancellation.
A statement from Bangor City Council said: “Fireworks Night 5th November: We have made the difficult decision to cancel the event on the Pier. This is due to the situation with Covid regulations and we must prioritise public health. We hope to organise the event next year.”
The announcement marks the second year in a row where the firework display has been cancelled due to the pandemic.
Organisers of other displays that were set to take place in Amlwch, Beaumaris and Denbigh have all confirmed that their respective events have been called off for this year due to reasons pertaining to safety and Covid-19.
