The Bangor Community Group have appealed for volunteers to help with this year’s Bangor Christmas Cracker event, which will be held on 2nd and 3rd December, 2017.

Community Group Step In To Save The Event

The community group have stepped in at the last minute to save the day, after an independent events supplier pulled out just weeks before the event.

The group, who organised last year’s Christmas event and the Bangor Carnival, aim to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever before. There will be more stalls, more entertainment and even more festive fun!

Last year’s event included Christmas market chalets, fair ground rides, an ice rink, a giant snow globe, reindeers and of course a visit from the man himself, Father Christmas.

Street entertainment was provided by Bangor Tenovus choir, Batala Bangor and Dancers, while the evening was finished off with a community ‘Mannequin Challenge’ and then a firework display.

Volunteers Needed

Clair Tipton Pritchard, from the Bangor Community Group, said: “Bangor needs your help! We are looking volunteers to make this years Christmas Cracker the best yet!

“Are you able to help us decorate our Christmas grotto or wrap some presents? (Some of which can be done from the comfort of your own home)

“We also need help at Father Christmas’ Magical Winter Grotto on 2nd & 3rd December, roles include running the tombola, helping with ticket sales and assistance in the cafe.

“Can you help to litter pick or support the general public with any questions about the event in and around Bangor on the cracker weekend? If you can spare any time please get in touch. – no experience is necessary as there is a small dedicated team who are able to support you and offer any necessary basic training. Be part of something fabulous, exciting and magical and help make this Christmas Cracker cracking!”
