Bangor Cathedral has announced the appointment of Tomos Dobson as its new Operations Manager.
In the newly created role, Mr Dobson will work closely with the Dean and Chapter to oversee the Cathedral’s operational, financial and governance functions. His responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Cathedral, supporting staff and volunteers, and helping to sustain its mission, hospitality and community engagement.

He currently serves as Chair of Môn FM radio station and has extensive experience in broadcasting and organisational governance. A fluent Welsh speaker, he joins the Cathedral staff team with a deep understanding of the local context.
Outside of his professional work, Mr Dobson is an active musician and sings with Hogia’r Ddwylan, a choir based on Anglesey. He also enjoys composing music while walking along the coastlines of North Wales.
The post has been created with funding from the Church in Wales, as part of its commitment to supporting the six Anglican cathedrals across Wales.
Dean of Bangor Cathedral Manon Ceridwen James said:
“I, and the rest of the Cathedral team, are very much looking forward to working with Tomos and benefiting from his communications, management and financial expertise. As someone from Gwynedd who has studied in Bangor, he understands our context well and has an excellent grasp of the challenges we face.”
Mr Dobson added:
“I am looking forward to becoming part of the Cathedral team and such a meaningful community in Bangor. I thrive on building teams and creating communities, and I am excited to meet new people and help strengthen the structure and governance of the Cathedral for the future.”
