Police have appealed for information after cars were targeted by vandals in Bangor.

Local residents have had to pay out hundreds of pounds to repair damaged vehicles after several incidents of vandalism during the last year.

The latest incident occurred on Monday, 3 February, at the lower end of Bangor High Street, adjacent to the former Jewson site.

According to local residents the damage has included smashed windscreens, wiper blades and mirrors being broken, cars being kicked and dented, tyres being let down and graffiti sprayed on cars.

One local resident said: “Cars are being damaged constantly on Bangor High Street and nothing is being done. It is always the same group of three people – one on a bike and the other two walking – people need to be aware of it.

“It cost £250 a few months ago for a dent in the back as they had kicked it in. £75 for a wiper they broke off and I’ve had a quote for £300 for damage done to an electric mirror.

“It is not fair on all of us that work hard and people like that just go around damaging them without a second thought.”

CCTV footage has now captured a group stopping to vandalise a car before making off.

North Wales Police are aware of the incident and have appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting reference Y015657.
