A Bangor man has been showing his support during the World Cup by flying the flags of teams playing against England. Elis Anwyl replaced his Welsh Flag in support of the other nations and they can be seen flying above the A55 near Bangor.

The Swedish flag is now flying ahead of the World Cup quarter final game against England on Saturday and it’s the 4th time Elis has changed the flag.

Elis said: “First I put up the Panama flag, then that came down and I put the Belgium flag up before putting the Columbian flag, the Swedish one is up now.

“I just did it for a laugh really. I thought, I may as well because Wales aren’t in the World Cup this year.”

Elis plans to continue to support “anyone but England” and plans to change the flag until England are out of the World Cup, despite it being expensive.

“It’s had some positive and some negative reaction really,” he added.

“All my mates thinks it’s funny, but I have had a few people messaging me about it – someone even called me scum.”
