Bangor Rugby Club have announced that they will host a special seasonal game in memory of club treasurer Alwyn ‘Bank’ Hughes, who died suddenly last month.
Alwyn joined Bangor Rugby Club as the treasurer in 1992, a rugby fanatic who worked at Lloyds Bank, he joined the club to ’help out’ and remained with the club for the next 25 years.
Bangor Rugby Club President Mervyn Hughes, said: “Alwyn was not only a great friend to the club but he worked hard for many years to keep our finances in such good order. He was a kind, generous and quiet man who will be very much missed by all who knew and worked alongside him.”
The club will hold Alwyn ‘Bank’ Hughes memorial match on 23rd of December in a game where both present and past players of the club will play against each other. The match will kick-off at 2:30pm, there is an open invitation for anyone to join the club celebrating the life of a ‘special man‘.
