North Wales Air Ambulance landed in the grounds of Bangor cathedral this morning, in response to a medical emergency on Bangor High Street.

It is understood that a gentleman had collapsed outside the Feral Cat Cafe Bar, next to Poundstretcher, two ambulances also attended the scene at 9.45am this morning.

A spokesperson from Bangor Cathedral said: “The Wales Air Ambulance landed on the grass outside the Cathedral in order to help a victim who suffered a heart attack whilst shopping on the High Street. Please do pray for that person’s recovery, and please do support the work of the Wales Air Ambulance here. You never know when you might need them.”

North Wales Police released a statement saying: “In relation to the presence of emergency services on Bangor High Street, please don’t be alarmed, this is a medical incident.”

The gentleman was taken to Ysbty Gwynedd and is believed to be in a serious condition.
