Do you live with a funny teenager? Is your child the class clown? Perhaps your grandchild always has you in stitches. If so, we need you! Bring your funny kids to a brand-new comedy summer school that’s offering budding comedians aged 7 to 17 the chance to turn their punchlines into a live performance this August in Bangor.
Gwneud Make Do, a comedy school based in Llangefni, is launching its first ever Summer School, to be held at Pontio, Bangor from 18th – 22nd August. The week-long event will be led by acclaimed stand-up comedian and broadcaster Kiri Pritchard-McLean, who will guide students through the art of stand-up, sketch, improv, and character comedy.
Participants will work together throughout the week to write and rehearse an entirely original comedy show, which they’ll perform at the end of the course. The programme is open to all levels of experience, from class clowns to aspiring professionals.
“I’m so excited to run this Summer School, I just know it’s going to be a magical week and I can’t think of anything better than spending a week laughing,” said Kiri Pritchard-McLean. “It’s something very special to start the week with a blank page and finish it with a totally original comedy show. This is going to be a great chance to show everyone just how much young, comedy talent we have here in North Wales.”
Gwneud Make Do is calling on parents, carers, and grandparents to encourage their funny young ones to sign up and give comedy a go.
