A group of 30 people has embarked on a seven-day, 100-mile walk along the Llyn Peninsula coastal path to raise funds for North Wales Recovery Communities (NWRC).
The group started their walk in Porthmadog on Sunday, 1st September, aiming to finish the challenge at Penrhyn House in Bangor on day seven. The goal is to raise awareness for recovery as part of National Recovery Month, which is held in September, and to raise money for Penrhyn House.
This annual expedition takes place every September, and the group has covered various coastal paths over the years, including 100 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast in 2023.
NWRC is a small charity with the aim of creating a network of recovery communities to support individuals in establishing and maintaining abstinence from long-term substance misuse. They believe that recovery is possible with a little help.
Penrhyn House in Bangor currently provides a home to 17 residents in recovery from addiction and is open to anyone in the community in need of its services.
