Local artist Llŷr Erddyn Davies will be sculpting live at Storiel in Bangor, from 20 – 22 April 2022.

Llŷr has been commissioned to create a new artwork inspired by items of headwear in Storiel’s collection.  He will be sculpting headwear from the collection to feed into his design for the artwork.

He is also inviting local people and community groups to share headwear that they believe represents them, which will also inform the sculpture’s design.

Bring your headwear along to Storiel from 20 – 22 April 2022 and share your story of how it represents you or your community with Llŷr.

There are also opportunities for people to sculpt their own piece of headwear in one of three drop-in workshops led by Llŷr at Storiel at the following times:

 10am-12 and 1-3pm 20 April 2022

10am-12 and 1-3pm 21 April 2022

10am-12 and 1-3pm 22 April 2022

The project is funded by Welsh Government’s ‘Transforming Towns’ programme and Gwynedd Council.

It forms part of a wider initiative to enhance Storiel’s outside space in order to create a pleasant area for people to enjoy and improve its community engagement.
