Local girls, Freya Evans from Bangor, Glain Keily from Menai Bridge and Dream Williams from Llanfaes took gold at the World Traditional Karate Association (WTKA) Open European Championship at Chesterfield on Sunday, 31 January
The three girls, who are all Black Belts, dominated the Team Kata event and brought glory to the Seki Ryu Zan Karate Club based in Bangor.
Their coach Sensei Alun Mowll said, “We didn’t have much time to prepare for this comp with the Christmas break and all, but these girls are so determined, trained hard and it paid off”
Freya attends Ysgol Friars, whilst Dream and Glain attend Ysgol David Hughes.
