The relaunch of Bangor Market has been postponed after a weather warning forecasting strong winds was issued by the Met Office.

The weekly market has been on hold since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2019 and was due to return on Friday 26 November, after an 18-month absence from the High Street.

The weather warning issued by the Met Office from 9:00am on Friday said: “High winds developing during Friday afternoon and evening may cause some travel disruption and damage.”

The new market will be under the management of The Artisan Market Company, who are promising new opportunities for current and new traders & artisans to sell their products on the streets of Bangor.

A statement from the Artisan Market Company said: “Sadly the weather is definitely not our friend as extreme winds forecast mean we cannot go ahead with tomorrow’s launch as planned for safety reasons.

“We’ll see you all next Friday December 3rd instead.”
