North Wales Housing Association have made an urgent request to help the homeless in Bangor.
Staff at St Mary’s Hostel in Bangor are appealing for urgent donations of Sleeping bags, Tents, Coats, Shoes, Boots, Warm Winter Clothes, Socks and Underwear, Hats, Gloves Scarves, Tinned Foods, Instant Foods (e.g. Noodle Pots) and Non-perishable foods.
St Mary’s Hostel, which operates as part of the North Wales housing team, works with people who are street homeless, ‘rough sleeping’ or are ‘sofa surfing’ in the local area.
The Hostel is a self referral service that provides accommodation to 13 homeless people in 2 buildings in Bangor and is managed by a full team of support staff on a 24/7 hour basis.
Because St Mary’s hostel is very often full, they also offer a “gate service”, offering daily advice, support, survival equipment and food, drink and clothing to people who are street homeless in Bangor, however, they rely heavily on donations to provide this service.
How To Donate:
You can drop off any donations at St Mary’s Hostel on Love Lane, Bangor, or phone 01248 362211 to make alternative arrangements.
