Bron Derw clinicians have given the Covid-19 vaccine to residents at three large Bangor Care Homes on Thursday 15th January, using the AstraZeneca (Oxford) Covid vaccine.
Ella Griffiths a resident at Plas Hedd was the first to receive her vaccine from Dr Michael Barker, GP partner.
A spokesperson from Bron Derw Surgery said: “Thank you to all the patients and staff at Plas Hedd, Glyn Menai and Ceris Newydd for a successful vaccination programme.
“Thank you to all at Team Bron Derw who were involved in yesterday’s covid roll out.
“We will be expecting additional supplies soon from the health board so we can carry on with the roll out of vaccinating the over 80’s. We will contact patients when stocks arrive.”
The surgery will also be paticpating in the vaccination programme for the wider community. A a statement on the surgery’s Facebook page said: “We kindly ask patients not to phone the surgery with covid vaccination enquires as it’s blocking our phone lines for patients who need clinical medical needs.
“We are receiving stock shortly from the Health board to commence phase 1. Once that is completed and when additional stock received, we will move to phase 2 and so on. Please note, stock is generated from the Health Board in line with patients from the each category. We will keep this page updated regularly on each phase we complete and when the next one starts. We will make contact with you to arrange the appointment so no need to phone in at this time.
“We are bound by legislation and will not be able to make any expetions to the list we will be provided with.
“The clinical and admin staff are also trying to concerntrate on continuing to deliver patient services and ensuring the successful roll our of the vaccines in a safe and quick way.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
