Residents from Maes Berea in Bangor recently gathered together for a litter pick from the streets in their estate, thanks to the newly formed Maes Berea Community Group.

Around 15 residents attended the litter pick, which resulted in 10 bags of rubbish being collected.

Community Group leader Gail, who coordinated the litter pick, said: “The community of Maes Berea came together on Tuesday 27 October, assisted by a Bangor PCSO who supplied us with some equipment and attended by local Dewi Ward Councillor Gareth Roberts, to take part in a socially distanced litter pick on our estate.

“It was a great event to keep spirits up during lockdown. It also resulted in 10 bags of litter being cleared from the paths that go through the estate from other parts of Bangor. We hope going forward that people will think twice before dropping their litter.”

Following their hard work the children who took part were rewarded with a ‘Happy Meal’ kindly donated by McDonald’s restaurant.
