A group of 19 Coleg Menai AS / A Level students – myself included – were fortunate enough to go on a 3 day trip to London.
For a modest and reasonable sum, the trip consisted of a tour of Harry Potter Studios, Parliament, and a West-End show. You couldn’t really go wrong.
My fellow students and I enjoyed the performance of the musical ‘The Waitress’, starring Lucie Jones and Joe Sugg. We found the show to be extremely heartfelt and graceful.
‘Waitress’ tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, a working-class woman in an abusive relationship, who soon finds hope through her family and job. The rest? Well, you’ll just have to go and see it yourselves and find out!
There was so much to see and do that we hardly stopped, so the days seemed long but were filled with so much joy and laughter. We were given the freedom to roam around London in groups, which lead us to visit the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, and Buckingham Palace (we didn’t see the Queen, sadly). The stunning architecture surrounding us took my breath away, and we were all overwhelmed by the beauty of this city. Despite it being my friends and I second London trip, we were still amazed by the city at night time.
London in the winter is quite chilly (especially at night!), so I highly recommend wrapping up warm and enjoying a hot chocolate from the Trafalgar Square markets. The city by night is astounding – the atmosphere unlike anything here in Gwynedd.
So, if you’re thinking of coming to college to study A Levels, I hope that my account has given you a taste of the fantastic trips you could experience here in Coleg Menai. Come and study with us and you won’t regret it.
