North Wales Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy from Merseyside for possession of Class A drugs on Bangor Mountain, a substantial amount of money was also seized.
Inspector Jon Aspinall, of North Wales Police, said: “The arrest is part of our recent success in tackling County Lines drugs supply.”
“County Lines” is the term used to describe a form of organised crime where criminals based in urban areas pressurise vulnerable people and children to transport, store and sell drugs in smaller county towns.
Police have continued their pursuit of those bringing harmful drugs into the Bangor, after officers have made six other ‘County Lines‘ related arrests in the city over the past few weeks.
A quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs and cash have also been seized and further enquiries are now underway.
Inspector Aspinall added: “Possession and distribution of controlled drugs or the exploitation of vulnerable individuals will not be tolerated in our communities and we’ll continue to make determined efforts to disrupt this unwelcome activity.
“We are determined to keep our communities safe, however we can’t tackle this problem alone. The key to all of this is intelligence and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing concerns with us.”
