Viridian, the new vegan restaurant on Bangor High Street, will open its doors on Christmas Day this year, offering a free Christmas Dinner for the homeless and those in need.

Based at 307-309 on Bangor High St (the former home of Follow Your Bliss and Two Guys from Brussels) Viridian opened in early November 2019 and this Christmas they want to give something back to the community.

Daniel Barker from Viridian, said : “We’ve decided to open our doors on Christmas Day to offer a free dinner for the homeless and less-well off families of the area.

“We want to be an active member of the community and not limited to purely business purposes. We all believe in inclusivity and access to good affordable food, even on restaurant level which is why you’ll find our menu priced so that nothing is above £10.

“Given the nature of local foodbank use across Bangor, Holyhead and Caernarfon we decided it was only fit to open Christmas Day and offer a Free Xmas Dinner to the local homeless and vulnerable families.

“The event itself won’t be discriminatory and we won’t ask questions, we’d like to offer a warm surrounding and free, hearty meal for everyone.

“We’re also looking for volunteers who’d like to give their time to offer entertainment on the day and will hopefully be teaming up with the Bangor Shoebox Appeal so we can provide gifts on the day as well.

“We’ll be more than happy to accept donations of gifts for all ages to put under the tree on the day as well as food donations. The key aim is for everyone in our community to be able to enjoy the spirit of Christmas.”

Viridian will serve food between 1pm-6pm on Christmas Day and Booking is Not Required.

If you would like to volunteer, provide entertainment or donate a gift please contact Viridian via their Facebook Page or Call: 01238 352 155
