On Friday 1st of February a mural was painted on garages owned by Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd (CCG) in Maesgeirchen Bangor, with the help of year 6 pupils from Ysgol Glancegin.

The artwork was completed by the pupils under the watchful eye of Andy Birch from Dime One North Wales Graffiti Murals, who run Graffiti workshops for schools, youth groups and other organisations across North Wales.

The project was organised by PCSO Mike Sambrook of North Wales Police, funded by CCG and through Crimebeat, a national charity which aims to engage with young people developing projects which make their communities a safer place to live.

The mural has transformed the neglected garages, much to the delight of local residents.

Local councillor Nigel Pickavance said: “Well done to year 6 pupils, Denise CCG and thank you to Mike our PCSO for sourcing the funding to deliver this great piece of artwork.”

Banksy has got some competition!
