North Wales Police Officers have launched an operation to tackle retail theft and anti-social behaviour during the festive period.

Officers will be conducting high visibility foot patrols in Caernarfon town centre and Bangor city centre to deter crime and offer reassurance to those out doing Christmas shopping and other festivities.

As part of this operation, an additional Community Beat Manager has been appointed for Caernarfon and surrounding villages. PC Jordan Jones will be out regularly in the community to speak with shop works and customers about any issues or concerns they may have. Please say hello if you see him.

Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant Daniel Dent said: “We are committed to supporting the retail sector and our local communities during the Christmas period by working closely with partners to provide safe environments for people to work and shop.

“We have increased high visibility patrols in busy shopping areas in Gwynedd North with the aim to reassure the community and deter incident of anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.

“We have already had the pleasure of meeting with several shop workers during patrols and will continue to work with managers and other agencies to tackle retail crime.”
