Bangor 1876 has announced that former Caernarfon Town and Llandudno manager Sean Eardley will join the club as their assistant manager. Eardley will join Michael Johnston’s coaching team ahead of the Nathaniel MG Cup tie against Gresford Athletic at Nantporth this weekend.
Eardley told Bangor 1876 “I was in contact with Johno during the uncertain time at my previous club (Llandudno), and he spoke very highly of everyone and was really looking forward to the Cymru North season.
“Personally, it’s the right move for me at this very moment, to help Johno and the existing management team and players adjust to life at Tier 2, not to mention the fantastic fanbase also!
“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a fresh challenge and one I’m relishing. I’m excited to work alongside Johno, Gaz and Al, and get to know other members of the set-up and club as the weeks go on.”
“The Cymru North is a fantastic league to compete in with some great players and managers. As a group we need to take each game as it comes and prepare well, but train with the right intensity and application. The early signs are very pleasing and I want to add to that.
“The league is very tough, and won’t settle down until we’re 8-10 games in or possibly halfway through, it’s close to call this year that’s for certain. As I mentioned, our preparation has to be right and as a team we have to make sure we’re on the right side of the fine margins as that is what results will come down to.”
Message to Fans
“Whatever club I have been at and in whatever job role, I have always given 100% and been fully committed to the cause. I attended the Llanidloes game and everyone I came across made me feel really welcome which was humbling.
“I look forward to sharing a pint with you post-match. Continue your amazing support thus far and get behind the lads. It’s clear to see already there’s a fantastic connection. We’ll encounter tough weekends and results for sure, but we’ll also enjoy the highs and positive results as well! I look forward to seeing you all at the Gresford match.”
