A weekly market will return to the streets of Bangor later this year after an 18-month absence from the High Street.

After negotiations between Bangor City Council and The Artisan Market Company, a new market is likely to be back in Bangor by the end of November.

A statement from The Artisan Market Company said: “We’ve been busy working on a new expansion opportunity and we’re extremely excited to announce that we are coming to Bangor with our markets!

“We’ve been chosen by Bangor City Council to take over the Friday weekly market in the centre of the city, with the option to hold one-off events too, and we cannot wait to bring back the market to its former glory and line the High Street with exciting stalls once again.

“There’ll be plenty of new opportunities for our current and future traders & artisans to join our vibrant markets and sell your wonderful wares on the streets of Bangor.

“Obviously there’s lots to plan and prepare, but we hope to relaunch the local market by late November / early December to provide you with plenty of trading or shopping days in the run up to Christmas.”
