A woman in her 80s remains in serious condition in hospital after a fire at her home in Bangor.
Emergency services were called to the fire at a property on Ffordd Hendre just after 7.20pm on Monday, 4 January.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental, and had involved a cigarette.
The woman was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd with burns and remains in a serious condition.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “The cause of the fire in Bangor was accidental involving a cigarette and the casualty remains in a serious condition in hospital.”
The Fire and Rescue Service was alerted by a monitoring system at the property. Crews from Bangor and Menai Bridge were sent to the incident.
A joint investigation was launched by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police following the incident.
