B&Q has today reopened all of its UK branches following the coronavirus shutdown.

All stores are open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.

Following the announcement of the UK lockdown on 23rd March, B&Q closed their stores and have been designated as an essential retailer, before this week the store was only open for click & collect orders.

Strict social distancing measures are in place to help customers and colleagues to keep safe.

Similar to shopping at other essential retailers, such as supermarkets, B&Q are strictly limiting the number of customers in store at any one time and are not allowing under 16s in store at present.

All open stores have a designated queuing area outside and these have markers every two metres to help remind everyone to respect each other’s personal space.  To further support social distancing, stores have two metre floor markers throughout as well as other point of sale, and perspex screens have been installed at the checkouts.

A statement on the B&Q website said: “We’ve opened our stores to help customers repair and maintain their houses and gardens while staying at home. We’re offering a broad range of items for take away on the day but it’s important customers can shop safely.

“Only products that you can shop and takeaway in store on the day are available to customers. This is currently a reduced offer with services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting are not available for the time being and only card and contact-less payments are accepted.”

“We continue to offer a Click + Collect service as well as home delivery service through our website.”
