Plans are full steam ahead for a bigger and better Maes g Winter Wonderland in 2019.
The event will take place on Saturday 14th December 12pm- 5pm and plans are already at an advanced stage to give everyone a Winter Wonderland to remember.
Councillor Nigel Pickavance said: “This year we hope to have an official road closure order which will enable us to have in place some small funfair rides outside, some music and various stalls.
“Some of the attractions this year include a ‘bucking reindeer’ and there will be a prize for whoever stays on the longest, xmas bouncy castles, traditional fun fair games, popcorn, slush drinks, nerf guns, candy floss and a splat the rat game.”
The owl sanctuary will be attending the event with owls and other birds. There will also be a disco with fun games, competitions and balloon modelling.
Councillor Pickavance added: “We have special visits from the popular Grinch and Olaf and the great green screen will be here with great Christmas themed backdrops.
“Don’t forget our arts and crafts room where there will prizes for the best picture. The final mention must be our spectacular Santa’s Grotto. A lot of work is going into this year’s grotto and every child will receive a brilliant present. Santa and his helpers are really looking forward to meeting all the young people.
“As with any event, it can only be successful if there are enough volunteers. Volunteering is fun and its a great sense of achievement being part of a great team. Anyone interested in helping then please contact me on the details below.”
“On Thursday 28th and Fri 29th Santa and all the brilliant helpers will be hitting the streets, collecting money for a great cause. We are leaving the PMP office at 5pm so come along, volunteer and get into the Christmas spirit.”
