Former Bangor City U19 player Adam Pritchard, has been selected for the all American Football (Soccer) Squad, selected from college players across the United States.

Adam became an academy player for Bangor City at the age of 10, progressing to captain the U16 team and playing for the U19s team in the Welsh Premier Development League (North), where they twice won the league. In 2016 they also won the All-Wales Championship.

Adam also played for Coleg Menai, when he was selected to play for Wales Colleges for two consecutive years and played in an international tournament in Rome. He also played for Wales Schoolboys at the age of 17 and is the proud owner of 2 Welsh caps.

Following Adam’s appearance in Rome, Adam was invited to take up a scholarship in the USA. Having already signed a contract with Bangor City FC first team, Adam was a regular squad member on the bench but decided to take the opportunity of a scholarship and has spent the last 18 months playing for Iowa Lakes Community College in the USA, and has captained his team.

In his first year at the college Adam was selected for the All-Region First Team. Again this year he has been selected for the All-Region First Team, but has also been selected for the All-American Team, which is made up of college players across the whole of the USA. Adam is the first player in the history of Iowa Lakes Community College to have achieved this accolade.

Adam will finish college at Iowa Lakes in May 2019 and is currently in talks with first division teams in Seattle and South Carolina with a view to potentially carrying on his soccer career in the USA. He is also exploring the option of returning home to Wales next year, with a view to continue his studies at Bangor University and to play for a team locally.
