Two fighters from The Dog House Kickboxing club in Bangor are ready to fly out to Portugal next week, to fight for a world title at the World Martial Arts Organisation World Championships, with fighters from over 20 different countries taking part.

Jack Jones and Billy Jones both age 15, only started training earlier this year and both qualified for the World Championships by winning at the British Championships.

Both fighters have been training intensively for the last ten weeks, including an early morning run at 4am followed by circuit training before they attend school at Ysgol Tryfan. During the evening they train from 4pm – 8pm, following the club’s philosophy of “Train Hard – Fight Easy.”

The Dog House instructor Darryl Gallagher, who has won 19 world kickboxing titles, knows what it takes to become a world champion. Darryl said: “I’m amazed at the enthusiasm and dedication they both show, they are always outside waiting for me to open the club, they both have the potential to become world champions.”

“Thank you to everyone who have supported these lads, they are now fit and ready for the championships! Representing Wales and putting Bangor on the map!”
