After safely negotiating a tricky away tie at Mid-Wales side Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant, Bangor City now face Penydarren, from the 5th tier of Welsh football, in the Welsh Cup quarter final.

Penydarren, who play in the South Wales Alliance League Premier Division, have already played six games to reach the quarter final stage of the competition, the first time they have entered the Welsh cup.

Bangor City, who have won the Welsh Cup eight times, will take on the Merthyr Tydfil based team, in Bangor, on the weekend of March 3-4.

Penydarren, who are undefeated in all games this season, have already beaten higher-level opponents in their amazing Welsh cup run, including Pontypridd Town, Cardiff Corinthians, Brecon Corries, Penrhiwceiber Rangers and an impressive 4-0 away win at Llandudno Junction of the Huws Gray Alliance.

Bangor have faced lower league opposition in their two previous Welsh Cup games this season, beating Cwmamman United 4-3 and Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 3-2 on Saturday.

Qualifying Round 1 – Penrhiwceiber Rangers (Home) 5-3
