Arriva Bangor Football Club have won the Elias Cup Final, beating Bodorgan in a penalty shoot-out, after a dramatic game played at Holyhead Hotspur’s stadium on Friday 4th May.
The ‘Fourth’ was definitely with Bangor as they recovered from a 2-0 deficit at half-time, scoring two second-half goals which forced extra time and then a penalty shoot-out.
First half goals from Luke Gardner and Gerwyn Williams had given Bodorgan the advantage, but goals from Arriva’s Andy Clarke penalty and a Gavin Pritchard equaliser took the game into extra time, with no further goals the game was decided on penalties, with Arriva winning the shoot-out 5-3 and lifting there first ever trophy as a Saturday senior league club.
Arriva, who now play in the Kon-X Anglesey League, could still complete an amazing double when they play Caergybi in the Bwlch Car Boot Trophy Final to be played at Llangefni’s Lon Talwrn on Friday, 25th May 2018.
