Staff at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor celebrated the NHS’ 70th Birthday on Thursday 5th July. The day started with BBC Radio Cymru broadcasting live from Ysbyty Gwynedd which featured interviews from the staff.

At 11am a Tea party was held in the main reception for the public where they enjoyed cake, tea and also a performance by the “Ghostbuskers” a musical performance project who welcome people of all ages and abilities, provided the entertainment.

In the afternoon the staff held tea parties on their wards and the team from Tegid Ward wore nurses outfits from different eras. The maternity ward had a ‘Call the Midwife’ theme party with past and presents midwives.

Instead of holding a tea party the Children’s Ward held a fundraiser and treasure hunt and raised £975.72 for the ward.

Happy 70th Birthday NHS!
