Darryl Gallagher, an 18 time world kickboxing champion from Bangor, has set up the city’s latest Martial Arts gym, The Dog House Kickboxing Club, situated at the back of Asda car park behind the High Street.
Darryl started kickboxing at the age of 5. Due to a lack of opportunities; an 11 year old Darryl chose to travel to Liverpool 4 times a week to train at the world famous Mushin Kai club under the guidance of the renowned martial artist Alfie Lewis.
The commitment, hard work, loyalty and ambition Darryl learnt whilst training in Liverpool is now evident at his own gym and through its members.
The Dog House
The Dog House runs various classes from children’s, women’s kickercise to competitive kickboxing as well personal 1-2-1 sessions.

He hopes to help the people of Bangor achieve their goals, from weight loss, building self confidence, self defence or to seek the same opportunities of travelling the world and competing as he did.
If you would like to join or simply learn a new skill, lose weight, learn self defence or build your child’s self confidence there are various classes held at the Dog House from Kids kickboxing, Women’s kickercise to Adult kickboxing lessons.
