Have you received outstanding service from a Gwynedd Council worker or team of staff? If you have received particularly good service over a number of years, or a recent incident where staff went the extra mile might have left you wanting to show your appreciation. If so, Gwynedd Council would like to hear from you.

For the third year, the council are asking Gwynedd residents to help find the deserving winners of the “Gwobr y Bobl” People’s Award.

They are looking for those Council staff who put Gwynedd residents at the heart of their work and do whatever they can to deliver the very best local services.

Gwynedd Council Chair, Councillor Annwen Hughes said: “The ‘Gwobr y Bobl’ award has become an important way to show our appreciation to those staff members who go the extra mile to provide a first class service for the people of Gwynedd.

“Despite the cuts to public services, Council staff continue to make a real contribution to our communities day in and day out.

“We hope that the ‘Gwobr y Bobl’, and the appreciation of local people, can help to celebrate the important work they do and inspire others to follow their example.

“Every individual or team who receives a ‘Gwobr y Bobl’ nomination will be told of the feedback received and the overall winners will be honoured with a certificate and trophy in recognition of their hard work at the ‘Council at its Best’ ceremony next spring.”

The closing date for nominations is 31 January 2019. All nominations will be considered by the Council Chair and Vice-Chair and the winner will be announced at the staff awards ceremony in the spring of 2019.

The winner will receive a certificate and a small trophy.
