Tributes have been paid today following the sad news that former Bangor mayor and councillor Dorothy Bulled MBE, has died.

Dorothy was a Partneriaeth Maesgeirchen Partnership (PMP) life member, A City of Bangor Councillor and a long serving member of Ysgol Glancegin governing body.

In 2008, Dorothy received an MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace after dedicating a great deal of her time over the years to various voluntary and community organisations in Bangor, in addition to her duties as a councillor and mayor of Bangor, a role that she undertook on two occasions, between 2002-03 and again between 2010-11.

Dorothy excelled in her charity work, especially on behalf of children and young people, elderly people and people with disabilities, and was instrumental in helping to secure many improvements for the local community.

She was involved with the Ty Cegin Healthy Living Centre near her home in Maesgeirchen, as well as helping the RNLI, community police and neighbourhood watch, and an OAP luncheon club in Penrhosgarnedd. Dorothy had also been the organist at St Peter’s Church in Penrhosgarnedd since the age of 14.
