North Wales Police have appealed for information after the Penguin Café and the ‘Jasmine’ restaurant in Bangor were targeted by thieves over recent days.
Sometime between 9:30pm last night (Monday, 13th November) and 9am today (Tuesday 14th) entry was gained via the back door of the ‘Jasmine’ restaurant on the High Street. Once inside the thief or thieves stole three charity boxes and a small amount of cash from the till.
And sometime between 6:30pm on Wednesday 8th and 8:30am on Thursday 9th November a thief or thieves targeted the Penguin Café on the High Street whereby entry was gained via the skylight. Nothing was stolen as the alarm was activated but the thief or thieves left via the fire door.
PC Lisa Thomas from the local policing team said: “We are appealing to anybody who may have seen suspicious behaviour around the High Street to contact us. Local officers have looked at local CCTV and carried out enquiries in the area and we are currently keeping an open mind as to whether both incidents are linked.”
Anybody with information regarding either incident is asked to contact officers at Bangor Police Station on 101, quoting reference number RC17169895 for the Penguin Café incident and reference number V172470 for the Jasmine restaurant incident.
